Javier Troyas Bermejo, President of the Institución Futuro

There are still many goals to achieve, but looking back to what it has been conquered until now I can see that the think tank has become a worthy representative of the Navarra’s civil society, implicated in the prosperity of our region and ready to participate actively in the configuration of the region’s public policy.

I believe that the presence of the Institución Futuro in the decision making forum of Navarra is a symptom of health and maturity of our citizen freedom. All members and people who have supported us should be congratulated. However, the project has just started.

While we have been working for just two years, other think tanks have been active for more than half a century. The intention of the Board of Trustees is that more sectors of our society get involved in our project. We plan to increase the number of members and to strengthen collaborations with the Civil Service and other bodies, both public and private. Likewise, we want to increase the value of our investigations and activities to make our results helpful for the region’s development. One of our main goals is to work more intensively in the competitiveness and the sustainability of Navarra. In order to achieve this objective, we need to count on the citizens. Little by little the nature and purposes of the think tank are getting known and it is accepted that the construction of our future is a plural task in which the civil society should participate. Along with other organizations, the institution has played a pioneering in transmitting this new philosophy of the public action in Navarra. Our wish is that, in future phases, the function of this catalyst of ideas and action could be considered as something common and natural of the democratic ecosystem. I would like to publicly thank all members of our institution for their indispensable participation in the project.

Particularly, I would like to express my gratitude to Caja Navarra, Sodena and Mapfre for their generous support in the creation and consolidation of the Institución Futuro. At the same time, I would like to thank all who have at some point helped us.
